URGENT -- 19 days to Google Groups FREEZE - Group Continuity planning ???

(This is me yelling on a podium in the middle of a prairie wheat field!)  🙂

I just saw this message:

Existential questions:

1. Does the Group continue to have purpose (discussion/repository/history)?
2. Does anyone have any ideas for an alternate site to host the Discussion Group?
3. Could/should the existing Group content be migrated?

If so ...   

1. In what format?  
2. By what mechanism?  
3. Using what facilities/manpower?

Any leader(s) out there?

I'm only new here, so ... can someone with "history" give this a hard look and consider "rallying the troops/resources"?

Not many alternatives. These come to mind. A Few email mass sharing...requires a  moderate. Private Groups on Facebook, requires a  moderator. Reddit - Private Groups, requires a moderator.

The info on Google Groups will not go away anytime soon, if ever. Links can be established on any new location to access the Google Group as a reference source.

Big confusion

GOOGLE GROUPS isn't going away.

Google groups used to be able to connect to USENET, internet software that allowed list serves. These were similar to Google groups.

The connection to USENET is going away. This is what the notice says.
