Hey Steve,

Things have settled down on this end, it's been a bit of a saga regarding cars. I'll throw out, on short notice, (I've been looking for a window in terms of weather) tomorrow for a ride.

I'll propose  the Gateway trail, starting at what's listed on google maps as:

"DeMontreville Wildlife Park, 5850 Hytrail Ave N, Lake Elmo, MN 55042"

We could ride east toward Stillwater, which is 9 miles ish, or stop along the way and turn around. Stillwater requires giving up a lot of altitude, which requires pedaling back up. We could make that call from the trail as to whether we want to make that commitment.

I'll throw out 9:00 and see if that works. I'll plan on riding a bike with 38mm 650b tires, more for comfort than speed, unless you've got other ideas.

I've still got an axle nut on my keychain.

Hi Jon, I have my 95 year old father staying with me tonight into tomorrow (it's his birthday) so I'm not available but if you have time on Sunday, the weather looks great.  I'm a fan of the Gateway trail.  Would this be 3 speeds or will we ride something lighter.

Sunday sounds great. I absolutely understand elder care and appreciate how it affects your schedule.

I have been riding the most on a Raleigh racing bike with 38mm 650b and upright bars. It's the best of both worlds. It's like a light 3 speed with 21 gears to get up hills. I don't ride fast.

Let's check in on Saturday and see if we can make Sunday work.
