I am getting the following error. I have attached the rspec for the same. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Error: Failed to create a sliver.

I don't get this error anymore .  I used addressBound= true in the rspec for each of the nodes.
Now I have a different issue:
My resources get reserved properly. But the interfaces for the GRE tunnel do not seem to get detected.

I have attached the rspec I am using and the cpp code which looks up details regarding the interfaces.

Hi Aishwarya,

I am cc'ing the geni-users mailing list to help us with this problem.

When you say the interfaces do not get detected, do you mean running ifconfig also does not return the interfaces in the list or is it not detected when you run the c++ code?

If possible, could you please send us:

1) the output of ifconfig from an example node
2) slice and aggregate on which you reserved the resources
3) Tool used to reserve resources , e.g Flack, Omni or Portal

Thanks,

Hi ,

When i run ifconfig I don't see the interfaces.

example:

ababu@r14:~$ ifconfig
eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 02:ce:cf:7c:4a:f8
          inet addr:172.17.3.15  Bcast:172.31.255.255  Mask:255.240.0.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::ce:cfff:fe7c:4af8/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:1141 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:1075 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:443202 (443.2 KB)  TX bytes:127704 (127.7 KB)
          Interrupt:25

eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 02:59:d4:18:09:8b
          inet addr:10.10.32.2  Bcast:10.10.32.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::59:d4ff:fe18:98b/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:133 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:28 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:5288 (5.2 KB)  TX bytes:2612 (2.6 KB)
          Interrupt:26

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
          inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 B)  TX bytes:0 (0.0 B)

there should be an  eth2 with inet addr : 10.10.31.1

-> The slice name is ccn29
-> The aggregates : GPO Instageni , Georgia Tech Instageni, NYSERNet Instageni and Stanford Instageni.
-> I set up the topology using Flack but reserved it through the portal.

Looking at your rspec, you need to use link_type egre-tunnel between
XEN vms …

I can now see the interfaces with ifconfig.

Thanks a lot
