Hi folks,
As Nev is no longer posting extracts from the Cumberland Pacquet, my BMD transcriptions from those newspapers have been lying dormant – which is a shame, as I have put a lot of effort into corroborating those notices from other sources and adding to their content.
I have therefore decided that after every two months (in 1820s terms) from the Carlisle Patriot, I shall post three months’ worth of BMD from the Cumberland Pacquet.
This would mean a maximum of 2 weeks’ worth of Cumberland Pacquet postings – often less, because if the BMD column is very short, I’ll post more than one week’s BMD in one day.
Please note I’ll be away from home for a few days from 6th March so there will be a short intermission without postings.
I hope you’ll enjoy these very old BMD columns.

You lost me at no longer. ☹
Ok, how can we get extracts posted? Is this a time problem, space problem, or money problem?
Do we need volunteers to post the dormant ones, more website space, or donations to pay for more space?
I have no clue how to do the website stuff, but I am glad to donate.
It’s time to draw a line in the sand! as Colonel William B Travis did at the Alamo.
Who will volunteer?

Nev felt that the Cumberland Pacquet was publishing too much of the happenings in America and not enough in the way of local news.
He is still thinking about what to post next that is more useful from a local Cumberland perspective.

SHEESH Nev, The Cumberland Pacquet editors obviously felt the happenings in America were important to their readers,
especially since so many colonials were from Cumberland and had relatives still in Cumberland.
I established this mailing list way back when Rootsweb started getting irritated with me and a few other mavericks, remember?
Your wonderful transcriptions have kept it going. I still have copies of the earlier book transcriptions. Let me research some alternative
locations for all the transcriptions. Then we can figure out how to transfer them. 😉
