A question about brakes

Good morning,

I've noticed that the brakes on my GEM 2022 E4 require relatively significant pressure to fully activate them. Is this typical in these carts? And, if not, do brake pads require replacement?

As always, I'll appreciate any helpful feedback.

Your cart has hydraulic brakes.Not like power brakes in your car. Are they disc or drum?
