Howdy
I have an RP150 I bought in 2007 and other than when moving has been 'on' for almost all of that time. I had kept a working copy of X-edit long after it disappeared from the internet but got deleted during the last blue screen kerfuffle. I recently set up a dual boot windows/linux (Mint) system and started looking to see what was available and was mighty pleased to discover gdigi. I saw it on github but got it through the ubuntu software manager. I do not know for a fact that it is the latest version of if there is indeed any updating. My question is, if anyone is still reading these, after it opens, it seems to hang for quite awhile before becoming responsive. I would call its behavior 'ungainly'.
Is there some fine tuning that can or should be done to make it work more smoothly?
Thank you for creating it and in advance for any advice.

Hello there, I can only help you if you need X-Edit version for Windows, I still use it on my Windows 10 and it works well. I have all the drivers, manuals (PDF) etc.
Sorry but I cannot help you with Linux gdigi software because I dont use it.

Hi,

I've not used gdigi in a while.

Last commit based on logs:

Author: George Marques <geo...@gmarqu.es>
Date:   Mon Jun 15 19:47:09 2020 -0300

I'm not in a position to test at the moment (most of my kit is packed up currently), but worked well for me last I used it.  I did just perform a compile test and that does work at least so there isn't any major problems like "it won't compile".

Last officially tagged version seems to be 0.4.0 from 2013 and numerous fixes has been made since (based on the logs), so I'd suggest grabbing a source copy and seeing if that solves your problem.

There is always fine tuning that can be done, but please do keep in mind most (if not all) of us have other paying work and we work (I've not recently submitted anything because my needs are satisfied) on projects like gdigi for the love of it as and when we need our own itches scratched.  So without specific details we generally just tend to fix things that annoy *us personally*.  I can't speak for others, but currently I definitely have other itches that need scratching.

Kind regards,
Jaco
