Hello,
I set up a new Windows Server from a previous snap-shot over an hour ago.

I cannot log in with the user/pass that I imagine would be stored within the instance. So I tried to set up a new user and also change the password of a previous user using the web console.

However I just keep getting: Windows password could not be set.  The error talks about waiting 10 minutes, but it has been over 60

Any thoughts?

Personally, that was happening to me up to two different times per instance for a brief window, rather than rack myself senseless inputting the cryptic passwords unendingly, I would try two times, then set a different password.

My personal experience was that either the password would work immediately, or it was just not going to work and another password would need to be set.

It's getting better but a lot of questions can be politically sensitive for Google, Inc., thus a completely transparent reply from reps with google.com email addresses won't be guaranteed.

It's almost like if a tree falls in the forest but no one heard the tree fall, did it really fall.

There are always other public cloud compute vendors, but it GCE Windows Server is progressing favorably.

Thanks and best of luck with your Cloud Computing.

Hi Marcelo,

Would you be able to try and do the same over CLI with "gcloud compute reset-windows-password <INSTANCE>"
and sen the output to me?

Could you please also run a "gcloud compute snapshots describe <snapshot>" and send me a print out privately
to gaysinsky at google.com
