The purpose of this group is to:

Announce GBF organized events, new recordings, and newsletters;
Share information on the intersection between Buddhism and LGBTQ++ individuals;
Serve as a forum to discuss Engaged Buddhism – “seeking ways to apply the insights from meditation practice and dharma teachings to situations of social, political, environmental and economic suffering and injustice.”

By using this forum to communicate with other GBF members, all participants agree to the following guidelines for engagement:

Posts and discussions should be grounded in compassion for all beings.
Thoughtful discussions are encouraged and we may not always agree with one another.
However, posts should be truthful, helpful, kind (spoken with goodwill), pleasant, and timely.
Be polite and respect others; discuss issues rather than people’s motivations.
Avoid sarcasm to prevent being misunderstood.
Personal attacks, divisive comments, and/or hateful speech will not be tolerated. If the conversation becomes heated or a comment seems to violate these guidelines, please notify a group moderator.
Message content should stay aligned with the subject heading. Please start a new thread if content strays from the original topic.
Do not share someone else’s private email message or contact details without their permission.
This forum and its discussions are not searchable on the web. However, this is the Internet, we are human, and there is no guarantee of privacy - so post carefully and respectfully.
