Details for the GameTable WG3 kickoff meeting in Malta

Dear all,
First of all, welcome to Working Group 3. We haven't had a chance
to do a proper group introduction until now, but the coming
physical meeting will make all of it clearer.
We are organizing our first meeting of WG3 in-person in Valletta,
Malta on Monday 25 March. Since we are too many WG3 members, if
you have not received an invitation via e-COST, you will join us
via Zoom so that we can have as many interested participants as
possible: https://universityofmalta.zoom.us/j/94046195386 ( Passcode:
015462 ).
The meeting will happen between 09:00 and 18:00 on Monday 25
March at the historical University of Malta campus in Valletta,
Malta. You can find a lot of details here:

important points below.
Accommodations:

Malta is a small island, so in theory you could also stay in
another locality and taxi back and forth from the venue.
Travel:
Since the rules for reimbursement for COST action include a day before and a day after the meeting's end, and the meeting day will be quite a full day (with a social dinner planned), I recommend you at least book flights between Sunday and Tuesday. March in Malta is also a sunny and warm period, so of course if you want to stay longer, I think you would find the stay enjoyable!
Malta's airport is well connected (although better connected during the summer months). To get to Valletta, by far the best way is to get a Taxi. There's a Taxi stand right by the exit of the airport, and cost to get to Valletta is 17 Euro ( https://www.maltairport.com/passenger/getting-here/taxi-service/ ). However, Uber, E-Cabs, Bolt and other taxi service applications offer cheaper options as well. I use taxi services all the time in Malta, and I highly recommend it.
Schedule:
The meeting will be only one day, but it will be a full day
(09:00-18:00). Check the schedule here:

Social Lunch & Social Dinner:
COST action meetings do not include lunch or dinner, which are
covered by individual participants' daily allowance instead. We
are organizing a social lunch at 13:00-14:30 near the University
of Malta campus and a social dinner around 20:00. If you wish to
attend either of these, you need to pay through the registration
portal (read below):
https://www.um.edu.mt/events/gametable/registration/form/ . Cost
is set in advance at 25Euro for lunch and 45 Euro for dinner
(evidently, 70 euro for both). You are welcome to bring +1/+X to
either of these, you can specify it at the registration portal. Of
course, if you do not wish to participate in the group lunch there
are many options for fast or slow food available around the
University of Malta campus.
IMPORTANT LOGISTICS:
For our logistics, we ask you to register (again) for the in-person meeting at https://www.um.edu.mt/events/gametable/registration/ before 18 March. This registration is cost-free, but is important to e.g. prepare your nametags and anything else. IMPORTANTLY, if you wish to participate in our group lunch and group dinner, the easiest way to arrange a booking and payment is through this portal. I would really like to avoid handling cash during Meeting Day! Thank you in advance. I suspect I'll be reminding the registration deadline at a later date.

Hi James, all,
We won't be able to record the meeting. We'll aim to prioritize
the best experience for on-site participants. Zoom attendance will
be more challenging, for example, during breakout groups'
discussion which will be a big part of the meeting.
However, we should plan for a few virtual meetings after this first physical meeting to get everyone to introduce themselves and collaborate on possible steps on the Roadmap (or new directions).
