Hello Waldek, hello here,

I have just built FriCAS with ECL and thanks for the modifications done to suppress "too" verbose output at startup. Here is my startup output:
===================================================
┌──(greg㉿ellipse)-[~/Tmp/fricas]
└─$ eclfricas
;;; Loading #P"/home/greg/.roswell/impls/x86-64/linux/ecl/21.2.1/lib/ecl-21.2.1/cmp.fas"
Starting interpsys
spad = "/home/greg/.eclfricas/lib/fricas/target/x86_64-linux-gnu"
Initial getdatabase
before fricas-restart
openServer result -2
                       FriCAS Computer Algebra System
                         Version: FriCAS 2023-06-17
                 Timestamp: mar. 27 juin 2023 15:19:48 CEST
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
   Issue )copyright to view copyright notices.
   Issue )summary for a summary of useful system commands.
   Issue )quit to leave FriCAS and return to shell.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
==================================================

I may be wrong but it seems to me the "before fricas-restart" message is a development helper, no? Just in case.

Regards,
__
Greg

In a sense messages up to and including 'openServer result -2' are
debugging messages. If everthing works well they could be
supressed. But in case of troubles they can help with finding
reason. Before the change ECL startup was really too verbose,
but I feel that few extra messages are not a problem.
