By the way, I'm pretty sure iIt would be very easy to port the FriCAS code.

Upper left, Gnuplot, Upper right, the default backend. My preferred, Unicode plot.

Just primitives

And by the way, I'm pretty sure iIt  would  be very easy  to port  FriCAS code (using its routines).

What backend does the `jlPlot` function use? Is it also gnuplot?

By default, no. You have to do it yourself for now.
For example you can issue a:

(1) -> jlUsing "Plots"
                                                                   Type: Void
(2) -> )ju gaston()

(2) ->

In the FriCAS REPL to use Gnuplot.
