Team - anybody interested in watching the Bruins v. Habs game 7 tmrw night? It's one of the oldest rivalries in all of sports, and the series has been phenomenal...! I don't actually have the channel so will likely watch at a bar or something (as long as nothing blows up at work tmrw) ...anybody with me?!

Joel, I can't speak for everyone, but I'll be attending the zoning meeting regarding a controversial high-rise development on Sumner St. across from ZUMIX. Maybe I can join things afterward if the meeting doesn't run too late.

Steve

Info about the meeting (from Madeleine):

Wed., May 14, 6:30-8, Noddle Island Community Room at the CONRAC Bldg, Logan Airport

The BRA is hosting a meeting as part of the public notification process for 245 Sumner Street (the old cheese factory, diagonally across from ZUMIX).

To be transparent - I am personally opposed to the current proposal. This is an important piece of land, as it welcomes people to Jeffries Point. I think the current proposal is ugly, much too big for the site, inconsistent with what the community needs, and the developer has not been responsive to community feedback. I hope you will join me at this meeting to learn more and hopefully to voice your in opposition of this proposal - development in Jeffries Point should be more thoughtful than this.

Description of the Proposal:
Velkor Realty Trust (the “Proponent”) seeks to redevelop an approximately 16,000 square foot parcel located at 245 Sumner Street in the Jeffries Point section of East Boston. The Proposed Project will consist of a newly constructed, five (5) story mixed use building with thirty nine (39) residential rental units, one (1) ground floor commercial unit, and thirty nine (39) off- street parking spaces.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday May 14th from 6:30 to 8:00pm at the Noddle Island Community Room. The Noddle Island Community Room is located in the new Logan Airport Car Rental Center facility (First Floor) at 15 Transportation Way East Boston, MA 02128.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, comments on the project can be sent to Raul Diverge atraul.d...@boston.gov or 617-918-4492

The development team will be presenting their project proposal and we will then open it up to a question and comment session, the public is encouraged to attend.

Parking is available (but limited) but the site is accessible by foot and public transportation.

I have birth class tomorrow and this is the early game. Let me know if you end up watching somewhere and I can catch the end.

Dare I ask who you will be rooting for, Canadian Bryce?

I'll be on a much-needed hot date with my wife.

I think we all need some beach volleyball some time in the very near future. If only we knew someone who had the proper equipment...

Give me a heads up on where you end up going, but chances are that I'll end up staying home.  I'd like to join late if possible though.

I'm not one for drinking at a bar alone (okay, I am, but just not tonight)... so I'll likely watch at my place via myp2p.ec (website for streaming sports for free).

Go Bruins!

Fear not.. Joel pre-emptively clarified his bruin allegiance this morning at Eastie rising.

Roberto, not only am I a man, but I also have volleyball equipment. Let's play some vball!

On another note, if anyone wants to spare a few minutes on Saturday to help me shuffle around the shed that I'm building in the back yard, send me a message!
