Error on Upload: Invalid BST category, should be a valid Broad Sound Taxonomy subcategory code

Hello!

Yesterday I started receiving this error message every time I try to upload a new sound via api: Invalid BST category, should be a valid Broad Sound Taxonomy subcategory code

Is there a new field I should be sending that I'm not aware of?

Hi Fabio,

Yes, on Friday we introduced a new field in the sound description form, and that also applies to bulk description/API uploads. We announced that in this blog post: https://blog.freesound.org/?p=2206. Also, you'll find available categories and categoy codes here: https://freesound.org/help/faq/#the-broad-sound-taxonomy. We did not update API docs yet, so sorry for the confussion.

Hey, thanks for replying! However, I can't find anywhere the name of the field that I should send in the json. The documentation also doesn't help much: https://freesound.org/docs/api/resources_apiv2.html#upload-sound-oauth2-required

Hi,

The name of the field should be bst_category. Let me know if this does not work.
