Dear all,

I plan to release an update today at 14:00 Berlin time. It may take half an hour. Until then, please don't use the "Test" button in emails, due to an error on my part you will spam yourself incessantly.

Best,

Ruben

Are you updating the formr package used  on formr.org as well?
I tried to use `formr_connect()` with email and password in a "Skip Forward" in my run and it got me the error "R Error: Could not login for unknown reason."
I checked the formr version running on formr.org: 0.8.6
Locally, with the 0.9.0 version of formr the code worked.

I know I shouldn't use email and password to connect, but I suppose I won't be able to use the keyring package on formr.org.

Hey Ruben,
when Do you expect that `formr.org` is back online?

Hi all,

my expectation was unfortunately off. A DB update took much longer than planned. I now changed plans last-minute.
Studies should work as before. The email bug is fixed.
Planned improvements to the user overview unfortunately did not go through yet and may take some hours still. This should
not affect most of you.

Best,

Ruben

Dear Ruben,

after the update I see there is a bug concerning the "external link" module. I have a study running where I send a daily SMS to the participants with the link to the run in order to work on the surveys.
Now (I tried it myself with the test run function) once the user clicks on the link sent via SMS, the run is not going forward to the next module but remains in the "external link-SMS" position and sends once again the SMS. I have to manually change the user's position to the next module in order for them to access to the questionnaire.
All worked fine until this morning (I am using Twilio as SMS provider).

I hope my report helps! and I hope this can also be fixed!
Thanks in advance
Giulia

Hi Giulia,

What does your External unit return when it correctly sends the text? Does it return false?
If not, can you change it, so it does? That should work.
Also, please send me the unit code and the run/unit ID
off-list.

Best,

Ruben

Dear all,

I've reverted the External module to its old behavior. Sorry for all who were impacted.
I promise I won't rush any more updates while Cyril is on holiday. I hope the new version solves some problems in addition to the teething problems it caused.

Best,

Ruben

Hi Ruben,

I'm hitting some issues testing a survey which was working fine on Monday.

When I tried to create a new test user I got the following warning:
500
Fatal error
2021-08-18 16:28:21
SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1205 Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction

I restarted and I've tried it a couple of times and I'm getting a new issue - the survey starts ok but not all run units are working. I'm testing an ongoing longitudinal survey which has various waves built over the last year and to which I added some new runs to on Monday. It worked on Monday but today some (but not all) run units that contain logic referring to answers in previous units just show as a blank page - from what I can tell this only seems to happen in the early stages of the survey in runs that were built last year, the ones I added on Monday carry info between them, but they no longer seem to interact with runs in early waves of the survey.

No one will actually be taking the earlier parts, so it's not necessarily an issue that new/test users can't use them, but I do need the new runs to be able interact with the data that was reported in them.

I hope that makes sense!

Thanks.

Sarah

Dear Ruben,

I seem to have similar issues, also since today. When i try to create a test user (by klicking "test run"), and also when i click on the link of a published study, i get the following error message:

500
Fatal Error
2021-08-18 17:05:21
SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1114 The table 'survey_run_sessions' is full.
Please let the administrators and know what you were trying to do and provide this message's date & time.

This happens with all my runs (so its not a run-specific error). I am currently testing studies only and no one is participating for real, but if this happens to others as well, their participants might get blocked.

Might this be due to the update as well?

Thanks
Nils

Dear all,

We plan to release a hotfix tonight at 22:00. It may take an hour for the release to complete. For the most part, your studies should continue running as should but please do check after the update if all is well.

Best,
Cyril

Dear all,

The update has been released. We hope this resolves remaining problems (especially if you
problems with sessions getting stuck after survey/external expiries) and leads to greater stability in your studies.

Best,

Ruben
