Food Action Team,

Here’s the final draft of the 2025 Garden Resource Guide.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW by Monday evening if you see any glaring edits that are needed. I just did a very quick review, and the only one I found is on page 6. But I’d really appreciate help from anyone who’s willing to put in the time to give it a more careful review.

Thanks,

Annette

Hi Annette,
I read thru another beautiful Garden Resource Guide, what an amazing publication!

The only things I noticed include:

On the Welcome page lower left corner, the first two “w”s are cut off short, it might just be how it looks on my phone🧐

On page 6 likely the same spacing issue you already caught with Ron Kujawkie name

And I had one question seeing Kapa landscape listed. I thought I remembered learning she had retired?  I left a message to inquire; though I’m sure the team has likely already done that. I will let you know if I hear back from her.

That was all I noticed. Thanks to all who helped create this resource!
Diane

Looking good!

Here are a few more possible edits:

On the cover, should there be a comma after services?  (I’m not an editor, my eye just wanted one 😊)

On the Welcome page, I noticed the same thing regarding the www - it wasn’t just Diane’s phone view.

On page 2, not sure why “food growing” is underlined?

On page 4 take out “Civic Beautification/Urban Forestry Advisory Committee (Corvallis Parks)” from the NPK description.

On page 7, I think is should be bonsai not bonsaid.

Great job, team!!!

Anna

In the Garden Center Section:
  • the Garland's entry has a typo on line 1. "bonsaid" should be "bonsai"
  • the HomeGrown entry, first sentence should be edited to use the same punctuation as the other entries in the section-- so needs the semi-colons to be replaced with commas.
Question: Why is Nichols Nursery in the Garden Equipment & Supplies section, instead of in the Garden Center section? Is that where folks would best find it as a source for what they are looking to buy?

Pg 8 Wilco entry: add clothing

Pg 9 Tack Box: needs a period at the end of blurb.

Pg  21 in Bee section:
  • Add Linn County Master Gardeners Pollinator Information- Mason Bee Support Provides useful information on mason bee houses, timing for releasing stored cocoons, proper summer storage and early winter sanitization of cocoons to reduce pests that kill cocoons. Sells supplies in Spring. Offers free classes in cocoon inspection and cleaning. https://www.linnmastergardeners.com/pollinator-info

Thank you for circulating this for feedback, Annette! Here are a few more to add to the great notes you've received so far:

Additional typos on page 5, SAGE section: opportunties --> opportunities.

Formatting on page 6:
  1. I suggest deleting the indentation of 'Call LCMGA at ...' and ' Purchase from Seattle Tilth...' so that they are aligned to the accompanying publication title. As is, they are the only indented subtitles in the guide and look out-of-place to me for that reason.

  2. Reduce space between 'Ron' and 'Kujawski' for the first publication under SPECIAL TOPICS.
