Hello fleet 83,

Please read the e-mail below from Jim Crabtree. This sounds like a great idea to me. Does anyone want to take the lead on coordinating this?

Greetings CSA sailors - I have an idea I want to bounce off of you.
The FSSA and Us Sailing surveys indicate there are Flying Scot sailors that are not racing but enjoying a more recreational sailing choice. I know at my club that is very true and seeing the Scots at other clubs that dont sail the regattas I thought that may also be true on a broader scale.
This past fall we organized a sailing trip to a lake in southern Missouri - five scots went and had a great sail, ate out, spent the night, sailed early Sunday morning and came home.
Thinking about doing something similar this next sailing season at Carlyle. What would be the procedure for CSA to “host” maybe a dozen boats (plus your members) to gather on a Saturday and sail to Keysport, have lunch, raft up in a cove maybe, return to CSA have a cookout and spend the night at the State Park? We could schedule Sunday around the CSA racing so as not to interfere or let some race.
What might the fees be to use the CSA facilities?
Just trying to build some camaraderie with those on the fringe of racing a Scot. You how great it is to gather together as sailors! I would be happy to assume as much organizational requirements as needed.
I THINK THIS COULD BE A BOOST TO CSA - THE DISTRICT & CLASS
Thoughts?
Jim
