FieldWorks uses Hunspell spelling dictionaries, which can be downloaded from the internet.  I’ve put dictionaries from some languages including Arabic on the webpage at https://software.sil.org/fieldworks/download/spelling-dictionaries/.  You night try that and see how it works for you.  If you find something better or want me to upload something different, let me know.

Indeed hunspell works very well. Something to keep in mind when using vernacular spell checking (or any of that matter) is that the exceptions .exc file(s) created, to which are added the words approved by the users, need to be manually merged with those of other users and then distributed among the users. The send-receive process does not copy or merge these across users.

One can also review the exceptions and update the .dic file with the exceptions. Although I have not tested this, I think these new .dic files will then also need to be distributed among the users in the same flex project. My advice would be to keep the .dic file as-is and merge .exc files regularly and distribute among the users.
