Dear SIL Team,
Greetings.
I would like to inquire whether it is possible to add a short historical story section within the dictionary to help explain certain regions, events, or cultural contexts related to specific entries.
Instead of placing this information in the example sentence slot, I am wondering if it can exist as its own separate section or place within the dictionary.
Also, I would like to ask whether this feature already exists in FieldWorks (FLEx), or if there is a recommended way to implement it.
Kind regards,
M. Matunga

Another option is the Extended Note field.

More information about the various Note fields that are available in FLEx can be found in the Dictionary-Making & Lexicography online course lesson LEX101 D5: All About Notes. We at SIL’s Dictionary & Lexicography Services encourage everyone who is involved in dictionary work to take this FREE course, beginning with LEX101 lesson A1 and working through to the very end. Register for the course and pass the quiz at the end of each lesson to earn a certificate in order to join the growing number of FLExperts in the world.
