bug#1: can't inspect element of XHTML file.
bug#2: deprecated coding practices in fb according to ff debugger (ctrl-shift-s)

Use of getUserData() or setUserData() is deprecated.  Use WeakMap or element.dataset instead. @ resource://firebug_rjs/console/consoleInjector.js:128

I visited http://rwortmann.com/work.php
this is not my site. am trying to help the person fix their site.

but on any page from any site, if you do
1. ctrl-shift-s
2. click console
3.click fb bug icon to start debugger on that page
4. hit refresh

actual: Use of getUserData() or setUserData() is deprecated.  Use WeakMap or element.dataset instead. @ resource://firebug_rjs/console/consoleInjector.js:128

expected: no internal error messages.

bug#1: can't inspect element of XHTML file.
Tested with Firebug 1.12.3 and Firefox 24.0 on a page with 'DOCTYPE" of
XHTMLTransitional, there is not such issue.
Please mention the versions of Firebug and Firefox you are
using? And also a page on the web you have the issue on?

bug#2: deprecated coding practices in fb according to ff debugger (ctrl-shift-s)
Mentioning the versions also would be helpful to track this one.

We got rid of firebug_rjs ages ago (1.9 I believe), and also getUserData usage more recently. So yes, please update to 1.12. (There's some bug in addons.mozilla.org that sends out Firebug 1.7 to people...)

@Jim, what Firebug version did you use?

I'd like to check why your Firefox wasn't update you to the latest 1.12.3

it does seem to be fixed in ff24+fb1.13.0a3.6086 had to use on my old box because of 5-min temporary hangs in fb, that was unacceptable.

otherwise it would probably be fb12.3?

too bad I don't get notified in the email about these questions. polling is not easy. sorry guys, at least we know its fixed.
