Hello, everyone,

Is anyone aware of any issues between FireBug and MooTools?

I'm currently running MooTools Core 1.4.5 and More 1.4.0.  I am running FireFox 26.0, and I've experienced an issue with FireBug (versions 1.11.4 and 1.12.5) that is breaking JavaScript and causing the page to just hang.

I'm not getting much information from the FireBug console, other than it's pointing to the MooTools Core, line 108, and I'm seeing something about "toQueryString()"; and, occasionally, something about Flash.

Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks,

^_^

Do you have a specific test case with instructions what exactly to do, so we could analyze the problem?

Thanks for your quick reply, Honza.

Unfortunately, my DEV system is isolated from the internet, so I cannot copy/paste anything for review.  And, even if I could, I'm working in a DoD environment, and they block sites like jsfiddle.

I guess I was really just asking if anyone has run across anything similar, and whether or not there was a workaround.

Thanks,

^_^

Don't know if this will help, or not, but I did manage to step through the error messages that are cropping up.

First, I get navigator.plugins["Shockwave Flash"] is undefined; then ActiveXObject is not defined.

A) This is apparently affecting only my system - no one else is having this issue, so I have to wonder if it might be a FireFox or FireBug setting that is causing this???

B) If FireBug is closed, there is no issue - the webapp runs without a hitch.

Any chance to load your page on my machine?

Unfortunately, no.  While the app is public facing, you need a DoD-issued CAC (Common Access Card) in order to access it.

CORRECTION:  The DEV side isn't publically available.  Dev environment is isolated from the internet.  Production is public-facing.

What you can do is to create a new profile and just install Firebug in it and then try out if you can still reproduce the problem.
There are more steps on our first aid page you can follow. Please let us know what you found out.
