Firebug has got an update to version 1.11.3 the last days, which should fix this problem.

Note that restarting Firefox after Firebug update should help.

Daniel, the update and your suggested steps sorted the issue out for me

Thank you :-)

Have anyone seen any exceptions in Firefox error console?

The errors did not appear when I restarted Firefox and right-clicked (and the menu looks/works fine now).

Haven't restarted Firefox yet; we'll see what happens then.

I believe the large right-click menu problem has reappeared with the latest Firebug release 1.12.1. Anyone else seeing this problem? I've tried restarting, reinstalling, etc.

After the latest firefox update (this has happened before) the right click menu spazzes out and is extra long, and the functions generally dont work. Popular opinion seems to be firebug is causing this.

Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix? I need firebug but I need the right click menu to work too!

I saw it when I just reinstalled Firebug, but noticed in digging around that the help menu for Firebug said 1.7.3, even though I *thought* I had taken the default install.  I reinstalled and made sure of the release I got (1.11.0, most recent that stated compatible with Firefox 22) and it's fine now - reasonably sized right-click menu that actually works, and Firebug works too.

This is a known problem that under certain circumstances you get the old version 1.7.3 from addons.mozilla.org. In case you have that problem, you can install Firebug from getfirebug.com.
@Peter Martino: Does that fix your problem, too?

The latest one available for Firefox 22.0 is 1.11.4. Though note that the current Firefox version is 23.0.1 and will be 24.0 by tomorrow.
