I am having this problem all the time.  I am using firebug/finder to inspect and test out xpaths.  For a while, when I put a valid xpath into firefinder it shows the location in the window.  But after a while when I type a valid xpath and click Filter, nothing happens.  I close it and start it again but still it is stuck.  If I reboot the machine and then do it, the html will show again in the window.  I am wondering if it is some sort of Javascript error?  Is anyone else having this problem?  What do you do?

Firefox version: 25.0 (please do not tell me to update firefox).
Firebug: 1.12.6
Op Sys: Windows 7 (yes I would prefer Linux, but ...)

Tony

p.s. //* or .//* should always show something in a non-blank html file.

Please note that we are not the authors of Firefinder. You should ask in the Firefinder discussion group.

Please check the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J) for this.

Well, you should. :-) But that's probably not causing this bug.

Funny I clicked to apply and it said I do not have permission.

What do you mean? You don't have permission to post to their forum?

You may want to write the author directly then. Here's his contact info:

FWIW you can also try out XPaths using the command $x() (doesn't require Firefinder).

(Or try the 1.13 alphas (actually very stable - 1.13a4 up to 1.13a6 should compatible with Firefox 26), where you can search for xpaths in the HTML panel search field.)
