Do you see any exceptions in the browser console?

Would you mind to install FBTrace and check if any exceptions are there?

Nothing, it's just not there, i've uninstalled, and installed 2.0.4 and it works.

I have the same issue- Firefox 31 ESR on RHEL 6.5. Firebug 2.0.5 is installed, but no icon or any visible means to start it. F12 only brings up the default dev tools.

I'm encountering the exact same issue on Firefox 31 ESR (31.2.0) on RHEL 6.6. No toolbar button, F12 brings up the Firefox developer tools, no way to add the toolbar button back, no option in the Tools menu.

Installed FBTrace and disabled all other addons besides that and FB and still no button. I did get some errors in FBTrace:

The Firebug Release Notes column on that page still shows 2.0.3 as most
recent version...

Hi, for the moment I met the same problem but there is a workaround - just downgrade the version to 2.0.4. How to do that - Open this link and download firebug-2.0.4.xpi - this working for me :)

I'm using Firefox 31.1.2 ESR running on CentOS 6.6 :)

Best regards,
Georgi!

I have created a test Firebug build that includes a patch for the issue
https://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/detail?id=7699
(see comment #1)

Please install it and let me know if it helps

Sorry, what column?
I can't see the problem...

Thanks for the update!

Could anyone else yet verify the fix please?

As soon as the patch is double checked, I'll release 2.0.6 promptly

The update does not fix anything on Linux - still unable to open firebug.

I will try and make some time to test on new profile and no other extensions

Using FF Nightly 36.0a1 (2014-11-01) with E10s enabled
Ubuntu 12.04

Well, if you use Nightly with E10S, you should be able to see the Firebug icon. Clicking on this icon should display a message telling you that you should update to Firebug 3.

Does it work for you?

Tested from my side on 36.0a1 (2014-11-03) with E10S enabled, and Linux Debian Sid.
