Hello,

I'm experiencing severe problems with Firebug, it seems that the first time I actually inspect a page's code with it the memory usage of my Firefox goes through the roof and, even though I close the inspect window afterwards, it seems Firebug continues to run in the background throughout my browsing experience from that point onwards and the memory consumption continues to increase which eventually results in browser crashes and scripts not processing.

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if the devs are aware of this.

Also, in case there's no easy way to address the issue, can anyone tell me if it's possible to force close the addon so that it doesn't continue running in the background after I'm done inspecting whatever needs inspecting.

Thanks in advance!

You should follow our first aid tips. So do you still see the problem on a fresh Firefox profile with just Firebug installed?
Furthermore if you experience browser crashes, please report them to Mozilla, so they can fix them.

You can turn off Firebug for all sites by right-clicking it's icon and choosing Clear Activation List. Does that help?
