Hi guys,

I'm interested in using the firebug inspector information to do stuff with an inspected element. I found this article about extending firebug:
http://www.softwareishard.com/blog/firebug-tutorial/extending-firebug-inspector-part-x/

Now my question: Is it possible to use Firebug LITE and add an listener to the inspector? Where can I find information or the API?

I used the current Firebug Lite and there I find Firebug in the console. Under 'Firebug.Inspector.onInspecting' I get an function but I don't know the parameters. If I provide just a JavaScript function I get an exception.

Any advice highly appreciated.

Kind regards
Tom

Hi Tom,
'Firebug.Inspector.onInspecting' is triggered during mousemove on `fbframe` which is created during inspection https://github.com/firebug/firebug-lite/blob/13ea59595e18dec10cdbd783d2b82a58efbaeb6f/content/firebug1.4/inspector.js#L100 . It just receives the event as parameter and finds the element its currently on using `Firebug.browser.getElementFromPoint`
