Is there any chance Firebird would ever implement CSV/XML/JSON support for external tables?

This question is more suitable for firebird-devel (or issue
https://github.com/FirebirdSQL/firebird/issues/7110 you linked) than on
firebird-support.

There is always a chance, but *I guess* unless someone actively
implements it themself, or sponsors such a feature, it will not get much
priority.

(To be clear, above is my personal opinion and not in any way an
official statement if the project.)

In the mean time, you can use my Firebird External Table Generator to
convert CSV files to external table format.
