RE: Default Instance - Change Directory

Hello,
I’m using a software who’s coded to create an instance and use firebird’s database.
The software does install everything (DB/INSTANCE) automatically.
By default, the default instance is stored in the following path : C:\Program Files (x86)\Firebird\Firebird_2_5\
I had marvellous the idea to stop the Windows services : Firebird Server – DefaultInstance
Cut and paste the directory to ie: D:\Program Files (x86)\Firebird\Firebird_2_5\
Change the following Registry key :
But sadly, the Windows services : Firebird Server – DefaultInstance won’t start again after that.
Any advise how to properly do that after firebird being installed ?

Changing the registry key doesn't do anything for the service (I believe
that registry key isn't used at all by Firebird itself). The Windows
service definition has paths configured, and by moving the installation
directory you broke its path references.
It would be better to uninstall Firebird entirely and reinstall with the
desired path instead of moving things around like this, because now you
have also "broken" the uninstall entry and possibly other references in
the Windows config.
*Moderator note*: Could please *disable* your signature when posting to
