We've recently released an open source instant messaging framework for Firebase. It supports all the core messaging features including multiple message types, user profiles and multiple chat types - 1-to-1, group and public chat rooms. We think that Firebase is a great platform for instant messaging and that this open source framework will help promote it as an alternative to services like Layer or Quickblox. We're actively promoting the project and looking for people to contribute. That could involve downloading the project and giving us feedback, writing guides or tutorials, helping with documentation, fixing bugs or adding new features.

The project is available on Github - iOS Chat SDK, Android Chat SDK under the MIT license. If you find any issues they can be reported using Github issue tracker and if you would like to provide other feedback or help us with the project you can email me at b...@chatsdk.co.

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing with the group Ben! I'm excited to see this grow.
