Hello,

I am evaluating a solution using Firebase (mainly the realtime database and cloud functions). I switched from the Spark plan to Blaze plan in order to enable Cloud Functions outbound networking to services other than Google ones.

After playing a bit with the realtime database, I see in the dashboard that I have consumed about 13MB. Then, if I connect to the Google Cloud Platform console I see in the billing panel:

Firebase Database Outgoing Bandwidth 13,31 Mebibyte 0,01 €

If I understand correctly, the Blaze plan does not include the free quota from the Spark plan (e.g. 10GB/month outgoing bandwidth for the Firebase database). Is it true?

I am asking in order to avoid any surprises when I will increase the load.

Kind Regards,

Laurent Pellegrino

Hi Laurent,

Realtime Database does not have any free usage amount while on the Blaze plan. Functions however, does have a free allotment.

Hello Kato,

Thanks for the clarification. Is it the same for Storage, Phone Auth, Hosting and Test Lab? I mean only Functions has free usage amount while on the Blaze plan?

The pricing page lacks information about this weird manner to proceed.

Regards,

Laurent

Finally, I can answer myself. The manner to proceed is reflected in the Blaze plan calculator. Only Functions has free usage amount while on the Blaze plan.

Mostly correct. Cloud Storage also has free usage limits. You got the rest of them correct.

Sorry for the confusion. We would like to make these more consistent in the future.

Great to know. Please note that in contrary to Functions, the Cloud Storage free usage is not reflected in the calculator available at https://firebase.google.com/pricing/#blaze-calculator.
