signInWithPopup() - 504 Gateway Timeout

I've encountered this error a few times the past 2 weeks and i'm not sure what could be causing it on my end.
I use firebase auth with a custom domain set as auth domain. When opening the popup i get redirected to  https://login.travelsation.com/__/auth/handler?apiKey=xxx&appName=%5BDEFAULT%5D&authType=signInViaPopup&providerId=google.com&scopes=profile%2Cemail%2Chttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fuser.birthday.read&eventId=744438117&v=4.1.5 To my understanding this is served by google servers. I currently receive "

504 Gateway Time-out

How would I go about fixing this? When retrying to get some more info in dev tools I get:
