Hello!

I'm curious if the reliability of the Realtime Database improved at all as part of the 3.0 rollout.  In general uptime is very good and the offline support is excellent at handling transient issues, am just curious if we can expect to see less yellow on this dashboard: http://status.firebase.com/

Also looks like this is the new place to monitor Firebase status? http://status.firebase.google.com/

Love the new updates!  Congrats again!

Thanks, Kasey!

Really appreciated the feedback. I'll pass your specific comments on to the right peeps, so they can enjoy a nice warm/fuzzy after the last year of hard work here.

We have a full time team of pretty amazing folk working on reliability, throughput, and performance of the database. Nothing in this arena was released specifically as a part of our I/O announcement, but we continue to roll out improvements on a pretty much weekly basis.

We've completely rolled Firebase onto GCP's reliable and massively scalable infrastructure as part of this work, and the sky is pretty much the limit now. I can't wait to see what those uptime graphs look like a year from now, and what new and amazing things the database can do!

☼, Kato

You guys deserve it!  After starting a project on Parse right before they shut down, it's really comforting and impressive to see the extent you all have invested in Firebase.

Awesome to hear Firebase is completely on GCP, that provides a ton of comfort too.

Just remembered this thread from January: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/firebase-talk/KwN4vN7DxfQ/dgduFFZ8DAAJ.  Are connections now automatically reassigned if a shard goes down, or is that still a manual process?

Still a manual process for the time being.
