I was able to work fine a couple of months ago with the curve fitting, but now, as mentioned by Rob Shaw, it seems the website is out of order; I keep receiving a 502 Bad Gateway message every time I attempt accessing. Is anyone out there aware of a new link that allows to access?

Unfortunately I missed this message, I will make a point to check in on it more often.. maybe we've got a bug causing it to go down more often than before.  It's been restarted and is up as of last night.

I am so sorry for letting this ride so long, unfortunately I have been severely ill and am receiving some medical treatments that I did not notice your messages.  One of you caught my eye and I reset it, we are back to crunching numbers!

Are any users willing to tell me what your use cases are?  It is possible we could improve this thing, sorry for the broken promises in the past, I would eventually like to see the site modernized and catered to the academics, scientists and engineers I know were finding good use for it.

I appreciate all your messages so I know I'm not throwing money to the cloud for no reason. I appreciate all of you telling me when it is not working also, along those lines.

You're the best,
 - Ross

Hi Ross, thanks so much for getting the website back  up and running and sorry to hear you've been so ill.  I hope you recover fully soon.

I am using findcurves.com to be able to estimate the force of a lifting magnet based on flux readings taken during the magnetisation process, in particular on round bars, where the relationship is more complicated.  With the formulae generated from findcurves, hopefully the software of the lifting magnet will be able to calculate the force on any round steel bar and then, after applying a safety factor, compare it with the weight of the bar to let the operator know if it is safe to lift.

Please can you tell us how we can donate to help you out a little with the running costs.

All the best,
Mark

That sounds fascinating, I love magnets!  That is a pretty cool application, I like it.  Sounds like you are helping operators of scrap metal magnet lifters?

If you would like to donate to findcurves I believe you may find me on Zelle using my email address rossm...@gmail.com, please make a note that it is for findcurves so I may allocate funds appropriately.  Recently I dropped the CPU from 4 to 2 cores due to low usage and to cut costs, we are at about $60/mo now.  I stay motivated to keep it online knowing how much it helped me, that it must be helping many others in powerful ways as well.  I am very willing to accept donations and may feel more motivated to make updates through any user interaction.

I appreciate your support and reply, thank you so much for sharing your use case with me.

Hi all,

I think findcurves.com is down again. I haven't used it for a while, but a student of mine would like to use it to find best fit curves for some secondary fluorescence data she is studying.

Best wishes,
Bob
