With rare exceptions, multibooting has _always_ been a bad idea, and ever
since virtual machine technology became routine more than 20 years ago,
it's been much smarter to move your legacy proprietary OS into a VM,
running underneath native Linux. (There were alternative ways, before
that.)

Doing that requires a bit of planning and understanding of one's system,
which is one reason why dumber and less satisfactory solutions predominate.

Should I be concerned at this time?

Elliot,

No problem, but as Rick Moen pointed out it is now easier to run the less used OS as a guest of the main OS. For Win11 this eliminates the hassles with secure boot, fast boot, tpm validation, and bit locker encryption. Here are Win10 and WinXP running at the same time as guests of a Mac OS host using VirtualBox. Any combination of Mac, Windows, Linux can run as hosts or guests using a virtualization program. Each OS will consume its required amount of RAM and storage space so plan accordingly.

What happened to having a boot/OS removable drive with a separate data drive.  For me no matter how many resources I allocate to a virtual machine, it drags...and slows the host OS too...

Just me two pennies worth!

Kind Regards,

Paul
