Hello everyone,

I am an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Michigan. In my lab, we are trying to create a decoy FED3 that beeps at the same sound level as the real FED3 device. The decoy's only job is to play a buzzer, so it is powered by an Arduino Uno prototype shield that operates on 5V.

Currently the decoy's active buzzer plays at 60 dB(c), which is 20 decibels too low. I am wondering, what are the exact specifications and/or the model of the buzzer used in the FED3, and would anyone have any suggestions on ways to increase the decoy's sound level?

Any information or resources would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Kekeli Dedjoe

Hi! Here is the beeper inside of FED3, it's made by TDK but easy to buy from Adafruit.

I would also buy the Adafruit Adalogger M0 board.

That is the microcontroller inside of FED3 so if you use that and the TDK beeper you should be good. Have fun! -Lex
