Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone encountered something like this before: 

My FED3 unit screen is displaying an exclamation mark with an SD card symbol. I was wondering how I should address this matter. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Taaseen,

That icon is programmed to show up when the SD card is popped out and go away when it is inserted. The code reads pin #7 of the Adalogger board, which is a "card detect" pin that has a physical switch that should report if a card is inserted or not, documentation here, and prints the icon if the card is out.  However, in practice I've found this card detect pin to be a bit unreliable (I've seen the icon while a card is inserted).

So to answer your question - if the icon shows up when the SD card is popped out everything is operating as designed, and if you put the SD card back in it should go away.  If you put the SD card in and the icon remains it might be fine too.  If the data is logging fine I'd just ignore it.  Hope this helps! -Lex

Hi Lex,

Thanks for the clarification. It looks like the SD card also may have gotten corrupted I think. It isn’t getting detected by my computer. Could that also cause this symbol to show up?

Yup! If you have a bad SD card I can see this feature not working correctly.  

Pro tip - if the card is corrupted or damaged throw it out. If you keep it around it will find its way into another FED and keep messing with you 😃
