Is there a way to make smoke in the Smokeview more transparent? So, the visibility slices stay the same, just the smoke presentation?

Answer is yes. But I'm hard pressed to describe how without a computer in front of me. SMV user guide any help?

I did not find the solution in Smokeview User Guide. I though that smoke color (or transparency) is fixed, and could be changed only through the soot yield (which I do not want to do).

I think you can set optical depth in smv, just can describe how to get there at the moment

take a look at the 3d smoke dialog box.  there are widgets for controlling the color and transparency of smoke.

Yes, I tried to use the options in 3D Smoke dialog box, but although I change some parameters, the smoke is still too dark. In the attachment is the screenshot.

Look for the "Thickness" widget in the "slice rendered" panel. It is "1" now. Increase the number. The smoke should appear more transparent as the number gets bigger
