1. Do you limit the number of APs you allow your students to take per year? If so, how many?
We do not have a specific rule limiting APs. We try to do our best to engage each student individually in this conversation. When appropriate we will tell a student they can't take a particular AP. However, there are definitely times when a student takes on too much despite our advice.
2. Do you require students enrolled in an AP class to take the AP exam?

At Academy at the Lakes, we do not set a hard limit for AP’s. It is an individually counseled thing, depending on the ability and capacity of the student. We do require our students who take an AP course to take the AP exam.

Generally at Lake Highland a very limited number of freshmen may take one AP, qualified sophomores may take two with academic counseling, juniors and seniors are limited to three in principle, but we have a fair number of top scholars who take more, up to six in some cases. All students in AP courses are required to take the AP Board exam.

Hi,
At Community School of Naples we offer one AP course to freshmen, some sophomores may have the option of taking two AP courses. Upperclassmen are not restricted by school policy, so they often take four or five AP classes. We tried limiting students to three, but mostly parents objected to that policy.
