Hello and happy new to all of you,

I had a question about testing for all of you. What standardized testing do you use at which grade level at your school and how valid do you find it.

Thanks,

Chris

Lake Highland uses the CTP4 in grades 3-8, then we administer the PSAT to students in grades 9-11.  We find the scores are fairly good at giving us a rough estimation of student progress and ability.  We use them as one of the factors in course placement decisions.

Hi Everyone,

We administer the PSAT to our 9, 10 & 11th graders. We will use it as a background piece of information on occasion for placement. For example, if we have a student on the border between a regular and an honors section based on their previous performance, we might look at the PSAT score as one piece of the puzzle to help us make the best decision for the kid. Beyond that, we don't use the PSAT scores for anything in a systematic way. I view it mostly as practice. We give our middle school students the ERB and use it similarly.

Hope all is well at your schools.

Carl
