Hi guys,

Bringing back this request, anyone knows if it's possible? I'm currently getting each new chapter with GrabMyBooks but it's really time consuming:(

Thanks!

Hi help needed to get the calaber app and fanficfare plugin to work so I can use it with nvda. Or if not possible then to use the pithan thing with it.

If you wish to message me off list that is fine but I can’t seam to get this to work.

I put in the link and press enter on the ok button then it just goes back to the mane window and nothing happens. I did give it time to I left run for over 24 hours and still nothing.

Please can someone help me?

The download happens in the background and when it finishes, Calibre
presents a 'Proceed to update your library' dialog in the lower right
corner. I don't know how your screen reader would interpret that.

Here's a possible path:

Alt-Shift-J is the hot key to open Calibre's Jobs window that shows
what's running in the background and whether it has finished. The
FanFicFare job should be named 'Download 1 Fanfiction Book(s)' in the
first column and the second column is status, which will be 'Finished'
when it's done.

Once the job is Finished, the 'Proceed to update your library' dialog
should be open in the main Calibre window. Close the Jobs window, and
once back in the main Calibre window, the hot key Alt-Y will accept the
'Proceed to update your library' dialog.

It may take a few seconds for the library to update, but after that the
downloaded book should be in the list of books.

Waw that has helped a lot. What do I do when it is in the list of books for example can I put in my documents or what ever?

It's in Calibre as an epub format ebook by default.

You can select the downloaded book in Calibre and the V hot key will
open it in Calibre's book reader.

The S hot key will prompt you to save the ebook somewhere else if you
want to.

The O hot key will open a Windows file browser showing where Calibre
stores the file if you want just open it in a different program from
there. However, don't move or rename anything Calibre's library. Use S
to save in that case.

Hi a question is it possible to clear out the jobs list when they are complete. Like lets say for example I downloaded 1000 jobs would they all stay in the list?

With the Jobs window open, there are buttons at the bottom for hiding
and showing jobs.

It doesn't look like you can tab from the job list to those buttons, but
pressing Alt-H hotkey twice brings focus to the 'Hide all jobs' button
for me. And once focus is on one of the buttons, you can tab to the others.

Worst case, restarting Calibre (Ctrl-R hotkey) will clear the jobs list.

FYI, new jobs are on top of the list, so the most recent job is always
the one on top.

I'm going to make a wiki page to record what we've discussed about using
the FanFicFare calibre plugin with NVDA. I hope you will be willing to
help with that.

This collaboration is great to see! I use the command line version on
Linux, but I'm sure many more blind fanfiction readers would use this
with the GUI more with Calibur. Thanks for all this!

Yes I will help in any way possible.

This really works and is quite accessible.

My only slite hiccup now is how to load it but that is done. I load the app press f10 check the box and arrow up to fanficfare then hit enter then left mouse and tthen control enter just to load it. I am sure there will be some way of doing it without all that but I am not sure of it.

Might you also be willing to contribute a guide on how you do that?

I didn't try to lead jamie down the command line trail because I
assumed, perhaps falsely, that it would be more difficult for someone on
Windows who wasn't already familiar with command prompt.

I'm already writing the wiki page and plan to leave a stub for command line.
