RV-7 Horizontal Induction Intake Covers?

Anyone have a pair?

I tied my airplane down on the ramp in St Louis for a week at 1H0.

Seems the birds there (probably those evil STL Cardinals) decided to build a nest on the engine near the firewall!  The airport sits right next to some freshly cut farm pastures.

No wonder my oil and #3 CHT were running a little warmer than usual...

By the way, the nest was not visible from the front during my walkarounds.  Found it today when we pulled the top cowl to investigate.

Please let me know if you have an old or new set to sell or loan.

BTW, I suspect the mud wasps will be out in force beginning Sunday.  This is the time of year and I think they’ve been held off by the dry spell.

Last year they got inside my prop spinner and threw the prop off balance.  You might consider wrapping a towel around the prop where the openings are.

One more thing to worry about..

The exact same thing happened to me up there. When I got to the airport, there was a bird sitting on the prop . Shit all over the thing. Luckily saw the nest before  departed. For the life of me , I can’t understand how that bird got way it the back of the plenum. Must’ve been the same bird. lol
