For any who haven't already converted to an all-LED external lighting system, I would recommend FlyLeds instead of AeroLeds.  They offer a drop in replacement for the way-overpriced Whelen strobe light system (see Whelen Replacement for $29) that uses your existing wires.

Brian Davis and Tommy Turner both use FlyLeds.  Take a look at "The Works" system for only $599.  I'm planning to convert the next time a Whelen bulb burns out.  Whelen is crazy with their prices....

Any other opinions?

Thanks

Waldo

I ordered the Flyleds works kit at OSH.  I put together the control board a couple of days ago but have to wait on everything else until I fit the boards to the wingtips.

I have the old 715 Batwing wingtips.  Flyleds had the Works kit for the 715 and one for the newer 715-1  wingtips.  Much tighter fit in the batwing tips but Paul at Flyleds says it does fit if you curse enough.

I will have to add more wires at the wingtips and tail.  Some may already have enough wires.

I plan to work on the instal this winter when I can afford the down time.

Completed control board below.  The surface mounted components are already installed when you get the board.  If you are familiar with soldering components it is pretty easy.

I’ve had FlyLed landing lights for several years. Inexpensive and very reliable. Also some of the brightest in any formation video.
My wingtips are skybeacon adsb/led. I noticed a big current use reduction when replacing the Whelens.

Whelp.  AeroLeds is the deal on the table,  not flyleds.

Just went thru the research on these two for my -10 build.  No bad answer.  I like the aesthetics of the Aero better.  Both seem to function well.  Fly 2/3 the cost.  Fly guys were very helpful in my due diligence process.  I ended up going with AeroLEDs because some experienced builders were having challenges getting the FlyLEDs to work with the VPX electronic circuit breaker system, which I will be using.  Many retrofits won’t have this challenge.  Otherwise I was going with FlyLEDs.  Two great options…

Neither of these are bad choices.

The brand that's 100% free, including wingtip, if desired, is the clear winner.
I am using $1 LEDs in my old Vans lights for nav and position.  4 years, still cooking.
