Hello!

The internet is truly amazing - we've been nursing our [1990] Faema Compact along for the last year with lots of TLC - some coworkers are saying "is it worth it?" - OF COURSE IT IS!!!!

The latest issue is a hose leak.  The hose that goes around the vibratory pump has a slow drip.  It was resting up against the bottom of the boiler, so not hugely surprising that it finally failed.

I haven't been able to find a replacement though - it's about 11" and has female 3/16" compression fittings on either end (part "3951-130 143" on below image). After much googleing: nada.  Any idea where could I find this part?

Thanks in advance!
Mike

ps. side question - there's a "manual fill" button on the front of the machine that is stuck - how is this supposed to operate?  What is it for / what does it do?

My manual fill button is very stiff also.  It takes all of my body weight to operate it.  But the way it works is you press it and it fills yhe amin tank.  I'm wondering if WD-40 will loosen it up?

Probably full of gunk, I am not sure if I would want to drink WD-40.   I think disassembly, clean, reassembly.   I replace orings and uses NSF rated silicone grease.

I take lots of pictures to aid with reassembly.   Within the water supply valve, there are some small springs and poppets .   Note their orientation for reassembly.

For the fill button, disassemble and clean. This is the same place I started when I first got my machine. I will say that it was the pebble that started the avalanche; I ended up disassembling the entire machine. This much work may not be necessary for either of you, but I never regretted it.

For the flexible hose, there are two options. One is find the same diameter hose at the hardware store - something that feeds water to your kitchen tap. Carefully cut the collar from you old fittings so you can press the fitting into your new hose. Use a hose clamp to fasten. Total cost about $10.

The second way is to take the hose to a local hose fabricator and they will make you something out of all new parts. Not sure what the cost would be.

They machines are great and worth the effort!
