Is there a way to create dimples in the cheeks which show when you make the model smile? I have been searching for a face generator that has this capability, and this is the most comprehensive software I've found, yet even this one seems not to have the ability to create dimples.

It's true, the default mesh smile does not include dimples.
If you have 3D artist skills you can modify the smile morph on the default mesh, then integrate it back into Modeller (using the Customizer) so that your "smile with dimple" morph can be applied to any face.

I google a subject that HAS dimples and use that face texture, cutting out only the dimples and softening the edges, making them semi transparent, changing brightness, tint and color with editing software and pasting the dimples on whatever face texture I choose. I do the same for freckles. Here are examples:
