Yes exactly.

The conscious visual knowledge rendered from one eye uses glutamate, and the knowledge rendered from the other eye is rendered with something slightly different.

No, I didn't know of this specific example.  Similar to the way I didn't know about "Phantom Limb Pain" and a bunch of other stuff, when I first realized conscious knowledge was different from reality and all in our heads.  That model just predicts all this kind of stuff will exist, and all this kind of stuff confirms the model.
