Hello Exilers,

My family had a smooth trip to Auckland, even with 13 pieces of luggage. We arrived yesterday at 8 AM and spent the day unpacking and settling into our new home. We've been to two of our local beaches already.

I just returned from my first pick-up game. It is about as hot as it gets here, 85 degrees, and the UV index is unbelievable.

How is a 12 even possible? They unfortunately lost their ozone layer because of all of the hairspray Rick used in the 1970’s.

I am sad to say that there are no old guys for me to cover. I think I may be the old guy. The field has a very odd wind pattern due the topography, so it made throwing hucks nearly impossible, but of course I tried anyway. I had one beautiful scoober that drew audible gasps, but way too many turnovers for a new guy.

They played with one team wearing pennies and the other team wearing a mix of lights and darks. I prefer our system of the pennies being a punishment for someone who forgets to bring a dark.

This game is a level higher than I prefer for my general welfare. Missing you all and our community!

Jesse

Hi, Jesse. If you’re trying to make us all jealous with the beaches you’re succeeding. But damn Rick’s hairspray—that’s a scary UV number. 6am Ultimate, anyone?
Glad you’re being challenged and or you can find some local old guys to recruit for this team.
Good luck with everything!

Jesse,

It looks lovely there - trying not to be jealous and that UV index does sound scary...
I'd love to get a group tour there some day!
