Welcome to the preseason of EC.  This year we have 4 amendments to vote one, and the rules state that every season we must vote to raise dues $50.

This is the discussion thread for that vote.

Currently
  1. All league fees are due prior to the start of the draft

  2. Each Owner will pay an entry fee of $350.00

  3. $340 of each owner’s fee will go towards League pot, $10 will go toward league/draft support at the discretion of the Commissioner

  4. League Funds will be accepted and kept by a Treasurer, named by the commissioner, in a separate savings account from Draft day until the conclusion of the season.

  5. Fees will be accepted in cash, check, electronic form at the sole discretion of the Treasurer.

  6. At the conclusion of the Fantasy Football season, winnings will be paid out to owners by the Treasurer within one week (7 days).

  7. During each offseason the commissioner will bring to vote an amendment to increase league fees by $50 with corresponding changes to league payout structure.  This motion can be amended while in discussion and will pass by a positive vote of at least 9 members (2/3s of the league +1)

This amendment would raise it from $350 to $400, we would then vote on what to do with the additional $600.

I don't feel strongly here, $350 feels like enough to matter and the end of season payouts feels substantial enough (thanks for your donation last season).  Also, the $50 per week high score is a really nice touch.  If we raised it I would want to increase the weekly payout to $75 and up the payouts for 3rd and 4th.

Current payouts:

X. Payout

  1. The Excessive Celebration Champion will receive $1,410

  2. The Excessive Celebration Runner-Up will receive $750

  3. Winner of 3rd Place Game will receive $500

  4. Loser of 3rd Place Game will receive $400

  5. The winner of the consolation tournament will receive $270

  6. During regular season weeks 1 thru 15 the owner with the most total points scored will receive $50.  In the event of a tie, the money will be split evenly between the tied owners.  This pay-out will take place prior to the start of the next week's games.

Feel free to weigh in here or on groupme.

Official vote thread to come after discussion.

Yay - I’m in agreement with Scott that I’d like to see the weekly high score get more.

Doesn’t this one have to be unanimous?  Seems like it fails.

It does not need to be unanimous, but one more no vote it will fail.  Jeremy and Schwartz yet to weigh in and/or Paul and Thomas could move from indifferent to no and Fail the amendment.

Ok - So Jeremy is a Yay.  This takes 9 votes to pass so all of the Indiffernt people need to pick a side.

I move my indifferent vote to Yay.
Will need to hear from Paul, Thomas, and Schwartz to complete this amendment.
If all 3 go from indifferent to Yes, it passes, if anyone goes from Indifferent to no, it fails.

No.  Don’t want to price out folks who don’t want to raise them.
