Hello,
I need to note in your journal that after 25 years of research I have published a book about Charles and Robert Ewing, the 1740 Immigrants.

The book is about their times and settlement in the Peaks of Otter and contains some information previously unknown. It also contains wills, inventories and surveys of 4 generations of Ewings.

The book is available through the Bedford Va museum.
Call : 1-540-586-4520 to order a copy.

Best,
Sandra Boyes

Anyone know how much it costs? Signed, one of Robert of Otter’s many many descendants :)

Thank you!!  I’m curious what information is “previously unknown” since Alicia Towster and others have done so much research.  think I’ll give them a call.

Forgot to say I’m through Robert II, Robert of Otter’s son, and will be glad to share any of my small mountain of documents on him.  Dear to my heart are my copy of the letter to Isaac Shelby, first governor of Kentucky, from James Robertson founder of Nashville, vouching for Robert and making him a recommendation for a job upon Kentucky’s statehood; a slew of copies of his original surveys in the Nashville archives; records of his having been a delegate to the NC state Convention the year it adopted the U.S. Constitution; etc.

Guess you could say I'm pretty proud of the old man.  ;)

Is this Linda?!  You rascal!  Your email doesn’t list your name! :D  You’re probably thinking of Terri Sanne who’s descended from uncle Finis.
Glad you didn’t get hurt worse in that fall.  I refuse to believe you’re 75 btw. Counting the days till I can see all y’all in Philly, hopefully next June!!  Also you know to email me, DM or whatever if you ever need info on anything.  💗💗 - cousin Jean

I just ordered a book for Faye and one for myself thinking this writer has probably found more than I have.  We descend from Robert I 's son John.  For some reason I thought your  lineage in that area was Finis.  Or are you claiming him, as I do as my 4th great uncle.  I have been a great researcher(not as great as you) but I have terrible organizational skills.  I'd love to spend some time with you sharing info but with the pandemic that is still a dream.  But keep it in mind.  When I became 75 a few weeks ago I suddenly became aware of my possible lack of time to finish all my bucket list wishes..  I fell on my face on a concrete patio at my daughter's house 2 weeks ago, had to go to the ER and found I was lucky having just banged my face!  I am almost mended down to a big scab on my swollen upper lip now but the fall didn't make me feel young!

Fellow Ewings, my branch is thru, I believe, one of the other 6 brothers that left Scotland for Ireland and then America. My ancestor was a James Ewing born around 1720 but without a known history of his father. But, I'm interested in having any of the original documents from your Robert and Charles Ewing mentioned in this e-mail line if it is easy for you to send electronically. My James Ewing settled in the Pocahontas region as well and it is too much of a coincidence to be that we aren't distant cousins. I'm from the "Indian John Ewing " line. Thank you. Jeffrey Sedgewick. Thank you
