Dear all,

I have made the modifications to the order of papers for those of you who have requested it; for the rest, I assume you are happy with the random order. Same goes for the session chairs.
(If what has actually happened is that you haven't had a look yet, you have till tomorrow 20th Feb noon CET to send me your amendments)

Regarding the BPAs, the final proposal is as follows:

1.- The 4 papers with the highest scores get nominated, i.e.
  • Late Acceptance Hill Climbing for Constrained Covering Arrays, Mosab Bazargani, John H. Drake, Edmund K. Burke (#75)
  • Evolving a Repertoire of Controllers for a Multi-Function Swarm, Sondre A. Engebraten, Jonas Moen, Oleg Yakimenko, Kyrre Glette (#80)
  • A Multi-Objective Time-Linkage Approach for Dynamic Optimization Problems with Previous-Solution Displacement Restriction, Danial Yazdani, Trung Thanh Nguyen, Juergen Branke, Jin Wang (#83)
  • A fast metaheuristic for the design of DVB-T2 networks, Fabio D'Andreagiovanni, Antonella Nardin (#88)
2.- Every chair gets a vote, except those with conflicts of interest (i.e. Kyrre, Fabio & Trung), and they are pledged to read all four papers
3.- The EvoAPPS Coordinator (i.e. Kevin) casts a quality vote if needed
4.- The final discussion will take place during the EvoAPPS AGM in Parma. We will kindly ask Kyrre, Fabio & Trung to leave for this to happen; the rest will be bound to secrecy on the deliberations and the final outcome.
5.- Those chairs who cannot attend the conference can send their votes to Kevin

The idea behind selecting 4 papers only is that it's not too much of an overload for everyone to read them all.
Also, since there are 25 chairs, minus 3 conflicts, that gives 22 *informed* votes, which is probably more than what we would get from an audience.

Please let us know what you think.

Best,
A*

Ok, I see now that NOBODY had paid any attention to my previous mail, because only now you realise you could not see the session chairs. Tsk, tsk...

Please find them attached.

...but this time look at them!!

Well, I did pay attention to it but I was too shy to ask :-p. But now that I just let my hair down, I'll made a second question: how is this multi-chair thing intended to work? Should we decide among us who will be the actual chair?

Given the precision with which time is represented, I would suggest to
anticipate coffee breaks by 30 seconds :)

I see no problem in the schedule for me. Ok as regards chairing the
EvoIASP session with Meng.

In case this was a pre-print of the programme booklet, apart removing
seconds from the times, please notice there is no indication regarding the
day in which the talks are scheduled.

You forgot to mention that there's no indication as to the ROOMS, invited speakers, what we will have for lunch etc, but...

...this is NOT a preprint of the programme!!

So please pay attention to what I was asking: session chairs.

For instance, Federico mentioned that he could only stay one day. Will that day be Thursday, or shall we remove you as session chair?

BEST PAPERS. Ok, but when is the deadline for reading all four papers? In the near future, I am swamped with reviews, so I cannot promise to read them all before the end of the month.

Good observation. Yes, there will be a chair for each of these sessions, and I was hoping to find two women, since men are everywhere else. My first candidate is obviously Sara Silva (and I'm waiting for her answer), do you have any others?

Paul is probably the best person to ask.

Paul, have Springer told you when they'll be sending the proofs back to you?
Or perhaps you could send us the camera-ready versions now? I don't think they'll be changing that much anyway...
