Three Phrases to Shut Down an Argument with a Narcissist.

·          “Narcissists use all sorts of strategies to get you to become mad and frustrated. They love to watch you struggle…. You NEVER win with a narcissist

·         If you argue, you’re going to be disturbed the whole day

·         You might get really angry and give them ammunition

I think LC should weigh in on this, because he's a quantum guy. He calls bullshit on biophotons. I did find a few things on this after doing a search, and had heard of biophotons years ago from a UK researcher named JohnJoe McFadden. But it didn't help me in my own interests so I bought his books and moved forward anyway. I like my physics like I like coffee and alcohol, hard!
Biophotons seems legit to me, although the work appears to be driven by biologists rather than LC type physicists. Like this-

Could a unobserved region of our own solar system be the source -a very feint one-of dark matter and especially energy? I am too ignorant to say yes or no. I mean there also could be an intelligent but ancient probe from Barnard's Star, but unless we have material evidence, it's all just you and I speculating. No, I as yet don't know or see Mr. Jesus as the only way to the Father, as your team insists. I mean you guys do have emotional stake in that claim, which I understand. If he was not who you say was, then what about your families. I understand the existential and know it well. If my neck is stiff, it is from watching the new administration shift back and forth on their vaunted policies.

I rather like atheist skeptic Shermer's last law (2002)
SOLD!

Narcissism is simply believing that the world revolves around me. What drives the progressivists is not narcissism but 'self-righteousness.' I grew up expecting religious folks to be self-righteous, and yeah they are. But they have nothing compared to the liberals and their Virtue Signaling each other. Go team!

For me, as Bruno accurately pointed out, I am a utilitarian, a pragmatist, because I go for species survival as the primo thing. Thus, I shrug off the insults because it's just something programmed in via ideology. It comes with the territory and the one thing that makes liberals happiest is not merely the demise of their ideological opponents, but Loyalty! They adore this. They hated the Loyalty Oaths under Joe McCarthy, but by God, they crave it mucho gusto.

There was a question asked (via a vid) that dealt with machinery. Now can a sufficiently sophisticated machine be conscious? What about some other planet where crystalline life evolved? Process may be similar, materials not water like us. Biophotons involved?

I shrug my Neanderthal or Denisovan massive shoulders and ponder..
Spud, the raging primordial (Why doth the primordial rage?)

Everything Ben writes is completely from the lunatic fringe. I drink coffee, but rarely drink alcohol.

That surely is your territory. Having said that, religions like all other human pursuits are subject to conscious and unconscious selection. I am in no position to criticize as I hold unorthodox views on science and physics as well. For me I also try to harvest the sciences for human use. The biphoton thing looks interesting, and may lead to assisting with neurobiology, molecular biology, perhaps computing, and eventually the discovery of living Exo planets. As in "ooh look, the biophotonic spectrum is in the red, along with nitrogen and oxygen levels!" Well, maybe.

“Dark-matter civilization”, not dark-matter perse, is under discussion here.

“An invisible civilization could be living right under your nose”, claims the Harvard and other theoretical physicists. Civilization means life. Physics alone will not explain life. No chemistry, no life.

Unfortunately biophoton studies, originated by the pioneer Fritz-Albert Popp, Institute of Biophysics Neuss (1996), Germany, an international network of 19 research groups from 13 countries, has drifted into therapy field, mysticism etc. That is probably for funding purposes. Pagan mystic tycoons with un-awakened consciousnesses put their money where their mouths are.

Look, I am the kind of guy more less your pagan thumbs down list, in the sense that we been waiting lots of time for things the empire established by the Romans, as a national unifying faith, to pan out as they described. They took the Gospels from the Greeks and perhaps, perhaps not, made adjustments. They outlive the other flavors of Christianity at the time, and I am thinking of the Arians. Different theological look out, eh?  If your Guy shows up soon, as you guys quote, then "all knees shall bend," and that all good. My idea is what we lack this century as more Black Swans show up, are contingency plans even for the religions. But that's my thing.

Biophotons sound very intriguing and probably need a better budget to do the research. The Silicon Rich seem to be looking for life-extension thing via telomeres. The worst thing about this is that it may not work. I haven't seen biophotons being registered as a funding target yet? For me personally, I like it better to rephrase the famous bumper sticker question of old, "what would Jesus do?" Meaning a question of morals. My view would be for all religions, respectfully, "How would Jesus do it?" Since we're are all of a scientific bent, I think it's a great question to think about all physical effects, real and anticipated. Biophotons might just work. I like the cause and effect. knowledge, and suspect that won't be answered for a significant amount of time. Meanwhile, its time for more coffee.

Heretically, yours

Though not fully understood, at least there is a recognition of “scientific bent of mind”. Unfortunately that is missing with the WAMP in general. Mind and consciousness are intricately related. No mind, no consciousness!! An un-awakened (un-Augustinian) pagan mind, vis-à-vis the intellectual Damaris (Acts 17:17). Will summarily reject a scientific approach to anything unknown. Those who  imagines “dark matter civilization” as “lunacy” and “total crap”, then they should contact the theoretical physicists who posit such physical systems. Any physical system has a chemistry associated with it. All life in the universe operate within the framework of a physical system that is also governed by chemical laws. No educated mind can overlook that.
