I guess it's safe to say now that a machine has passed the Turing Test :

True! Now we shall see if one obtains funding for Basic Research?

I just asked it to write a limerick about winning a research grant in physics.

A machine intelligence had a knack To write basic research on physics with aplomb It won a Federal grant For its work so grand The future of AI looks bright and calm

Here's one for you!

John Clark was an engineer you see When it came to quantum cosmogony His atheism, a must Along with his trust In the Democratic National Committee

Me of course- "me, me, me," Matrix Revolutions or was it Reloaded?

Spud100 reads cosmology and physics articles, The latest find is The Autodidactic Universe, By Lee Smolin and Stephon Alexander he knows, Their paper could reveal a Boltzmann Brain that glows. He's curious if the universe was so created, By a brain with a purpose of its own predicated, Could they have been first in this out-of-the-box story, And everything else just became part of its glory? It's a fascinating concept to ponder on, Maybe it explains why the cosmos moves along, So Spud100 will keep looking to and fro, To explore further possibilities to know.

Relatively speaking, that is! Ok, a physicist and a philosopher go into a bar and.... Or neuroscience sucks because it lags.

I don't see how I missed this one, last year? Here goes.

Here's the article itself for those who need to examine closer, if there are any?

Most physicists won't touch it, but would likely just dismiss it, thinking mere dismissal is sufficient? To which I say, quote: Bawah-hah-hah!
The reason being, that it attacks the premise of conscious through the mind of a physicist, & basically summarizes what can we conclude? Which, for those who groove on extending basic research (the few, the proud) should eventually open up a somewhat, different view of life and the Universe. Or, so I am proposing. Yeah, like maybe a very long time from now when the Budgets become available, and the quantum computers get a crack at this.

Have fun!
